Obituary of Dee Cocklin

Dee Cocklin, 52, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Hope Lodge in Iowa City.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.  Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at Mulford Church.  Visitation for Dee will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Dee’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Dee was born on October 7, 1964 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Dwight and Fredda (Estabrook) Cocklin.  Dee was a 1983 graduate of MHS and had attended both Mulford and Hillcrest Church.  She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, making greeting cards, shopping with her aunt and volunteering.  She volunteered many places, and worked at TLC Daycare and Crossroads. 

Dee will be deeply missed by her parents, Dwight and Fredda Cocklin of Illinois City; brother, Douglas Cocklin of Muscatine; aunts and uncles, Bonita Harthan of Rowlett, Texas, Bob and Velda Estabrook of Muscatine, Cheryl Estabrook of Muscatine, Joey and David Symmonds of Muscatine, and Mary Ann Moore of Peoria, Illinois; and several cousins.

Dee was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, Levi and Lydia Cocklin and Fred and Eda Estabrook; and one cousin, Misti Symmonds.
