Mary Lue Anderson was born the middle child of seven to Emil J. Anderson, Sr. and Eulalia (Brasch) Anderson on July 27, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa.  She was united in marriage with Raymond D. Hackett in Davenport on July 28, 1956.  They were the parents of three wonderful sons: Todd, Jeff and Craig, Sr.  The family moved from Davenport in 1973 to Letts, Iowa.  Raymond passed away December 31, 1989.

Mary Lue worked as church secretary at Fruitland Baptist Church for 15 years.  Widower Eugene F. G. Rock was attending services and a friendship began leading to marriage on September 17, 2006.

Jesus was first in her life with husband and family the reason for living.  Her boys each accused her of favoring one of the other sons so she thought she must have done something right since they thought each other were the favored one.  Her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, Macey Lue, have been the joy of her life treasuring every moment spent with them often recalling their funny antics.  She always prayed and hoped God would never take away those memories.

Mary Lue will be deeply missed by her husband, Eugene, of Muscatine; children, Todd (Tricia) Hackett of Muscatine and Jeff (Elizabeth) Hackett of Muscatine; Eugene’s two children, Virginia (Tony) Harrison of Muscatine and Walter (Michelle) Rock, of Seattle, Washington; six grandchildren, Craig Hackett, Jr., Jenna Hackett, Joseph Fox, Jacob Fox, Aaron Hackett and Nathan Hackett; Eugene’s grandchildren, Byron Rock, Erick Rock, Gene Morris and Lynn Morris; three great grandchildren, Macey Lue Hackett, Nolan Fox and Jared Woerly; one brother, Dennis (Donna) Anderson of Davenport; sister-in-law, Barb Anderson of Davenport and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond; parents; youngest son, Craig Hackett, Sr.; two brothers, Emil Anderson Jr. and David Lee Anderson; and three sisters, Baby Jean, Betty Mae Anderson and Shirley V. Meinert.
