Obituary of William Michael Wingerter

William M. Wingerter, 36, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at his home in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home in Will’s memory. William Michael Wingerter was born on May 27, 1983, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of David Dean and Deborah Sue (McCormick) Wingerter.  He was a 2001 graduate of Muscatine High School and then graduated from Muscatine Community College.  On September 20, 2003, Will was united in marriage to Amanda Armstrong in Muscatine.  They later divorced.  On April 1, 2011, Will was united in marriage to Amber Cozad in Muscatine and later divorced.  Will worked in industrial maintenance.  He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.  Will was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors, but most of all he loved to spend time with his children. 

Will will be deeply missed by his children, Hailey and Lainey Wingerter of Muscatine; step-son, Ty Cozad of Muscatine; father, Dave (Sherry) Wingerter of Revere, Missouri; mother, Deb (Donn) Thompson of Muscatine; stepbrothers and sisters, Shawn Phillips of Muscatine, Amy (Chris) Skidmore of Muscatine, Josh (Kara) Thompson of Pleasant Hill and Matt Thompson of Bettendorf; paternal grandmother, Lucille Wingerter of Muscatine and two nieces, Savannah Skidmore and Ally Skidmore.   

Will was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
