Obituary of Joyce Street

Joyce E. Street, 84, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Lutheran Living.    Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.   Interment will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Joyce’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Joyce E. Olson was born on June 30, 1935 in Muscatine, the daughter of Edwin and Iona (Clark) Olson.  On January 5, 1952, Joyce was united in marriage to William Street at Musserville Methodist Church in Muscatine.  Joyce was a homemaker; she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She took care of her grandchildren as they were growing up.  She loved to play BINGO, playing a couple times a week and she also enjoyed dancing alongside with her husband and socializing with her friends.  She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs fan. 

Joyce will be deeply missed by her husband, William of Muscatine; children, Sandi (Bob) Potter, Sharon (Duane) Wherry, Gary (Rochelle) Street and Sally (Jeff) Pagel, all of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Jennifer Littleton, Josiah (Lauren) Street, Lindsey Batenhorst, Mary (Robert) Rogers and Kiley Batenhorst; six great-grandchildren, Adisen, Jack, Nora, Luna, Kyle and Wesley and brother, Donald (Maggie) Olson of Muscatine. 

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth (Carol) Olson and son-in-law, Mark Batenhorst.
