Obituary of Jeff Stransky

Jeff Stransky, 59, of Riverside, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at his home.   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services of Riverside. Jeffry William Stransky was born on July 26, 1960 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Duane “Bud” and Wilma (Hahn) Stransky.  Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Highland High School.  On March 2, 1995, he was united in marriage to Sue Aubrecht in Iowa City.  Jeff had worked for 27 years at RR Donnelly in Iowa City and for 3 years at Genco in North Liberty.  He was a past member of VFW of Riverside and volunteer for the Riverside Fire Department.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, mushroom hunting, gardening, playing cards and smoking meat.  One of Jeff’s fondest memories was flying with Air Care as a First Responder.  His greatest love was the time he spent with his family. 

Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife Sue of Riverside; children, Brittany (Tommy) Iezek of North Liberty and Tony (Aubrey Cahill) Stransky of Washington; grandchildren, Isabelle, Tenley, Mia and Grayson; siblings, Jim Stransky, Joe (Julie) Stransky and Vicki (Don) Chalupa, all of Riverside, Jeannette Hein of Tiffin and Julie (Bob) Ellis of Colfax, NC; brothers and sisters in laws, Mike Aubrecht, Dennis Aubrecht, Pam Rogers, Kenny (Annie) Aubrecht, all of Iowa City and Eric (Tracey) Aubrecht of North Liberty; several nieces and nephews and his constant companion, Dodger.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
