Obituary of Derek A. Brown

Derek A. Brown, 39, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at his home in Muscatine.  A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Island United Methodist Church. Derek A. Brown was born on April 18, 1980, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Kelvin L. and JoAnn M. (Spitznogle) Brown.  Derek was a graduate of L&M High School.  He worked as a scrap recycler and enjoyed junking and walking.

Derek will be deeply missed by his children, Imagin Niquole Bartenhagen of Valdosta, Georgia, Dylan Allen Bartenhagen of Valdosta, Georgia; step-daughter, Brittany Marie Bartenhagen of Valdosta, Georgia; father, Kelvin Brown of Muscatine; mother, JoAnn (Jim) Bartenhagen of Valdosta, Georgia; half-siblings, Sheena Goreham of Wilton, Joseph McGourty, III of Cedar Rapids, Thomas McGourty of Muscatine and step-siblings, Toree Curtis of Muscatine and Austin Bartenhagen of Muscatine.
