Obituary of Maxine C. Lewis

Maxine C. Lewis, 95, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Muscatine, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in Sun City. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Hal Green of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Maxine�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Lewis family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Maxine�s family and her service. Maxine C. Lewis was born on January 9, 1910 in Beaman, Iowa the daughter of Katie and A.W. Carver. On June 19, 1930, Maxine was united in marriage to J. Robert Lewis in Muscatine. Maxine was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and T.T.T. Society Chapter M and the First United Methodist Church in Muscatine. She was also Mother advisor for Rainbow Assembly #38 for 5 years. She worked as a secretary in her husband�s law office in Muscatine for 10 years and was a homemaker. Maxine enjoyed reading, sewing and spending time with her family and friends. Maxine will be deeply missed by two daughters, Marjorie Larsen of Sacramento, California and Barbara Cose and her husband, James of Carson City, Nevada; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Carver of Muscatine and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Emma Wheeler and Catherine Boand; one brother, W.R. "Bud� Carver; and one son-in-law, Richard Larsen.
