Obituary of Terrence L. Getz

Terrence L. Getz, 64, of Muscatine died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Unity Hospital in Muscatine. Funeral services for Terrence will be 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine. Rev. Jason Crossen and Rev. Roger Hubbard will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Visitation for Terrence will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Terrence�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Getz family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Terrence�s family and his service. Terrence Leo Getz was born on March 18, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Joseph Edward and Freda (Scanlon) Getz. He was a 1959 graduate of Keokuk High School. Terrence was married to Mary Jane Stuckwisch and later divorced. On May 4, 1991, Terrence was united in marriage to Frances Fox in Muscatine, Iowa. Terrence was a route salesman for a variety of companies for several years, retiring from Wonder Bread. He attended the St. Mathias Catholic Church in Muscatine, a member of the Teamsters for over 20 years and a member of the volunteer fire departments in Keokuk, Macomb and West Burlington. Terrence enjoyed spending time golfing, bowling, watching stock car racing, looking at antique cars, being in the outdoors and his two dogs, Cookie and Reba, but most of all, Terrence was a family man, who dearly loved to spend time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Terrence will be deeply missed by his wife, Frances of Muscatine; four sons, Stephen Getz and his wife, Trisha of Warsaw, Illinois, Joseph Getz and his wife, Mary of Keokuk, Jeffrey Getz and his wife, Shannon of West Burlington and Jerry Dennis, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; five daughters, Angie Dennis of Iowa City, Tammy Dennis of Iowa City, Wendy Gillette and her husband, Mike of Muscatine, Luci Bloom and her husband, Jeromy of Muscatine and Raeann Curry and her husband, Ken of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; mother, Freda of Keokuk; two brothers, Tim Getz of Keokuk and Tom Getz and his wife, Pam of Keokuk and two sisters, Barbara Wendt and her husband, George of Rockford, Illinois and Linda Humphrey of New Boston, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father.
