Obituary of Aaron Joseph Goff

Aaron J. Goff, 34, of Riverside, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017, in Columbus Junction. Graveside services will be held at the Riverside Public Cemetery on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with full military honors. Following the services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Riverside V.F.W. Post 6414. Visitation for Aaron will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Aaron Joseph Goff was born on January 11, 1983, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Steven and Lora (Irving) Goff. He attended WACO High School. Aaron proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Ranger in the 1st Ranger Battalion. He attained the rank of Sergeant and was the team leader of the 75th Ranger’s Regiment. On September 18, 2010, Aaron was united in marriage to Kelsey Spears in Riverside. He worked at Tysons in for the last 9 years. Aaron enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid Hawkeye football and wrestling fan, but most of all, he dearly loved to spend time with his family, especially his two girls. Aaron will be deeply missed by his wife, Kelsey of Riverside; his two daughters, Payton and Makenzie Goff; mother, Lora Irving of North Liberty; father, Steven Goff of Custer, Kentucky; maternal grandmother, V. Joyce Irving of Columbus Junction; brothers, Edward Goff of Fairfield and Steven Goff, Jr. of Indiana; mother-in-law, Laura Gadola and her husband, Tony; brother-in-law, Garrett Gadola, aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. Aaron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, one sister, Lori Gossett and brother-in-law, Kemper Spears.
