Obituary of Lula "Dolly" Wittenauer

Lula “Dolly” Wittenauer, 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her home. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Island Cemetery. Visitation for Dolly will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017, from 11:00 a.m until 1:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Dolly’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Lula Lukenbach was born August 11, 1945, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Claire and Lula (Morris) Lukenbach. On October 12, 1996 she was united in marriage to Charles Wittenauer in Muscatine. Lula graduated from L-M High School and attended flight school. She retired from Monsanto with over twenty years of service. Lula enjoyed fishing, puzzles, reading books, camping, playing BINGO and going to the riverboat casino. Dolly will be deeply missed by her husband, Charles Wittenauer of Muscatine; daughter, Toie (Bryan Irwin) Browning of Muscatine; step-children, Tina Marie Stark of Bourbon, MO, Amanda Wittenauer of St. Peters, MO, Charles Robert Wittenauer, Jr. of Osceola, IA and John Donald Wittenauer of St. Peters, MO; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sam Lukenbach of Muscatine, Randy (Min) Lukenbach of Dayton, OH and Cindy (Greg) Honts of Tipton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Theodore C. “Tinker” Browning; nephew, Joshua Honts and sister-in-law, Pam Lukenbach.
