Obituary of Jeffery "Gilligan" Mulnix

Jeff “Gilligan” Mulnix 56, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A short service will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Military rites will be provided by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Following the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Pearl City Outreach. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Jeffery E. Mulnix was born on December 5, 1960, in Sterling, Illinois the son of Glen and Tillie (Weaks) Mulnix. On September 23, 2006, Jeff was united in marriage to Crystal Shepherd in Conesville, Iowa. Jeff was in the Army Iowa National Guard. He enjoyed pestering everyone, making jokes, Gold Rush on T.V., being part of the Circle Pride Motorcycle Club and spending time with his family. Jeff will be deeply missed by his wife, Crystal Mulnix of Columbus Junction; children, Barbara Michaels, Robert Mulnix, Brittanie (Anthony Lentz) Mulnix, Sosha Mulnix, Taylor Jean Mulnix, all of Columbus Junction; siblings, Mike Mulnix, Charrie Fiese, Debbie (Randy) Johnson, Gary (Tina) Mulnix, all of Muscatine and Paul (Susan) Mulnix of Wilton; adopted sons, Ethan Musgrove and Tommy Byrd, both of Muscatine; father-in-law, Merrill Shepherd; brother and sister-in-law, Paula and Buzzy Knapp; sisters-in-law, Valerie (Shuey) Ramirez and Dawn Cavin; brothers-in-law, Terry Smith, Jr. and Tim McCreery and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mark Mulnix; brother-in-law, Larry Fiese; mother-in-law, Donna Shepherd and special mom, Betty Berry.
