Obituary of Gene Gorham
Gene O. Gorham, 80, of Muscatine, formerly of Illinois City, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Lutheran Living. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will be in Drury Reynolds Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials will be used to create a vocational scholarship in Gene’s name. Gene was born on August 13, 1936 in Illinois City, the son of Oliver and Helen (Ratz) Gorham. Gene was employed at Heinz Inc. as a supervisor for over 35 years. He was also a lifelong farmer who enjoyed watching stock car races and hunting and trapping with longtime friend, Keith Irwin. Gene was a member of the Pine Bluff Methodist Church, Moose Lodge and the Farm Bureau.
Gene will be deeply missed by his two sons, Keith (Jodie) Gorham and Bill (Tammy) Gorham all of Illinois City; sister, Evelyn Arlene Johnson of Moline; and five grandchildren, Blaine, Nathan, Jacob, Owen and Brianna Gorham.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eldon Keith Gorham.
