Obituary of Burley Jack Walters
Burley Jack Walters, 77, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burley Jack Walters was born on May 25, 1940, in San Jose, California, the son of Earl Jackson and Canna Doris (Jones) Walters. Jack was united in marriage to Bonnie Faye DeVore in Rock Island. Jack was always a hard worker; working his way up to plant manager at Bandag and in 1976, he started Walters and Sons Distributing which is still in operation today, as Super Wash of Muscatine. He enjoyed going to casinos, traveling from state to state, collecting golf balls and in his earlier years fishing and camping.
Jack will be deeply missed by his daughter, Terri Walters of Muscatine; son, Robert (Vicki) Walters of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Amanda, Kristina, Fred, Brittani and Levi; four great- grandchildren, Kaylynn, Kyleia, Adler and Conley; longtime companion Wendy Dunlap of Muscatine; and one brother, Lee (Lois) Walters of Harrah, Oklahoma.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two brothers, Glen and Robert.
