Obituary of Mona Irene Manatt

Mona I. Manatt, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Mona.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Mona Irene Hutchison was born on November 22, 1928, in New London, Iowa the daughter of Paul G. and Maude I. (Rutt) Hutchison.  She was a graduate of Wapello High School.  On September 28, 1946, Mona was united in marriage to Alfred P. Manatt in Wapello.  She worked at HON from 1989 – 1990 and Huttigs for 19 years.  Mona was a member of the Women’s V.F.W. Auxilary and a past member of Wesley United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed walking, reading, playing cards, crocheting, traveling, gardening, boating and was an avid Cubs fan, but most of all, she dearly loved to spend time with her family.

Mona will be deeply missed by her daughters, Pamela I. Socha and husband, Jim of Vickery, OH and Sue Ann Cox and husband, Bill of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Lisa, Amy, Matt and Holly; nine great grandchildren, Wesley, Nolan, Griffin, Quinn, Zeb, Zeek, Zac, Nora and Anna, one brother, Dallas Hutchison of Muscatine and special friend, Ralph Burr of Muscatine.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Melba Manatt and Pauline Wiley.
