Obituary of Betty Stinson

     Betty J. Stinson, 90, of Muscatine, Iowa, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.  Funeral services for Betty will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, Iowa.  Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.  Following the burial, there will be a time of food and fellowship held at the American Legion in Columbus Juction.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home in Betty’s name.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

        Betty Jane Stratton was born May 2, 1927 in Conesville, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth Candice (Wymer) Stratton.  In 1951 Betty was united in marriage to Robert Willard Stinson.  Betty had worked in private health care in various nursing homes.  She was a past member of the Rainbow-Rebekah Lodge.  She was of the Methodist faith.  Betty enjoyed baking and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. 

            Betty will be deeply missed by her children, Willa (Rick) Drake, Robert W. Stinson, Wynne (Jeff) Harsch, Kathy (Randy) Adams, Gail (Steve) Lee, and Lisa (Mike) Fry all of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and several other special loved ones. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Stinson in 1958; one daughter, Becky Hazen; five sisters and five brothers.
