William “Bill” L. Burroughs, 60, of Columbus Junction, passed away, surrounded by family in his home on Monday, July 31, 2017. There will be services at a later date. Bill L. Burroughs was born on July 1, 1957, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Frank and Ann (Flake) Burroughs. Bill was united into marriage on August 16, 2002 in Wapello to Betty “Susie” Riley. He was a member of the River Forks Bass Masters, he enjoyed racing cars, avid bass fisherman, working outside in his yard, wrestling, sports, true Alabama Crimson Tide fan, his two kittens and dog buddy and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Bill will be deeply missed by his wife, Susie Burroughs of Columbus Junction; four siblings, Mike (Cindy) Burroughs of Columbus Junction, Julie Smith of Columbus Junction, Lisa Moore of North Liberty and Lori (Louie) Wanninger of Audubon, Ia; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Brian Burroughs and Patrick Burroughs; and brother-in-law, Don Smith.
