Obituary of Arnold Rivera

Arnold Rivera, 70, of Muscatine passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at his home. Cremation Rites were facilitated by the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Chapel, 1000 Oregon Street, Muscatine.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

 

Arnold Arellano Rivera was born on April 12, 1947 in Crystal City, Texas, the son or of Arturo and Julia (Arellano) Rivera.  On June 23, 1995, he was united in marriage to Judy D. Broderson in Muscatine.  Arnold retired from Schmarje Tool after working several years there as a machinist.  He was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed making things on his wood lathe.  He also enjoyed fishing, doing yardwork, flower gardening and spending time with his family.

 

Arnold will be deeply missed by his wife, Judy of Muscatine; children, Cindy Rivera of Denver, Carianne (Jose) Ward of Denver, Eric (JoLynn) Rivera of St. Louis, Missouri and Crystal Rose (Mauricio) Rivera of Denver; step-children, Anthony Ramirez of Wilton and John Qualls of Muscatine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Art Rivera and wife, Bertha of San Antonio, Texas and Alfredo Rivera of Durant; sisters, Ruby Rivera, Trudy Rivera, Angie Torres and Marivel (Ioan) Coca all of Muscatine; and brothers-in-law, Jose Aguirre,  Antonio Torres, Roger (Diana) Broderson, Gary (Kathy) Broderson, and Carl (Jeannie) Broderson all of Muscatine and sister-in-law, Terry (Tom) Gorsuch of Wilton.

 

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sisters, Yolanda Aguirre and Dora Torres; and sister-in-law, Tony Quandt.
