Geri was born in Muscatine on April 3, 1947 to Vernon and Mamie (Terrill) Howe of Eliza, IL. She graduated from Westmer High School in 1965 and married Charles Coulter of Joy, IL the same year. They later divorced in 1996.
Geri cherished being a mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed having big family get-togethers where she could bake and cook wonderful meals. Geri loved thrift store shopping so much she joked about having her ashes spread around Goodwill. She also enjoyed her social life, from her Tuesday night “Fat Class” to the monthly Card Club dinners. Geri worked in the hardware department at Menards for several years until 2009.
One of her favorite accomplishments was being Gramma Geri to Mrs. Yahn’s 3rd grade class at Colorado Elementary School from 2010-2014. She loved the children and was always so proud of helping those who needed some extra encouragement. And the students loved her homemade cookies!
Those left to honor her memory are her two sons, James (Jennifer) Coulter of Woodhull, IL and John (Anne) Coulter of Henderson, NV; and one daughter, Jayne (Tom) Savage of Muscatine, IA; and two beautiful granddaughters, Emily Coulter of Woodhull, IL and Ava Coulter of Henderson, NV; and one brother, Bob (Mary Lou) Howe of Eliza, IL. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, one brother, Michael, and several aunts and uncles.
