Obituary of Mike Murphy

Mike Murphy, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at his home.  Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center. Per Mike’s wishes there will be no visitation or services.    Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Mike’s family and his arrangements. 

Mike Murphy was born on February 7, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa to Harold and Fern (Kester) Murphy.  On March 16, 2000, Mike was united in marriage to Reedie McEvoy Stevens in Muscatine.  Mike had a passion for cars and enjoyed watching John Wayne on T.V.

Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Reedie Murphy of Muscatine; children, John (Trisha) Stevens of Wapello, Dawn (Rod) Adcock of Muscatine and Michael Murphy II (fiancé, Lindsey Morris) of Port Orange, Florida; four grandchildren Merissa Hammann, John Paul Stevens, Devin Stevens and Zachary Adcock; two great-grandchildren, Wylie and Waylon Hammann and sisters, Kathy (Jim) Murphy of Longmont, CO and Sandra (Stan) Orskog of Lee’s Summit, MO. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tubby and Danny Murphy and sister, Pat Ondrajka.
