Obituary of LeRoy Orris

Everette “LeRoy” Orris, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Lutheran Living.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Lutheran Living.  Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery.  Visitation for Leroy will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Lutheran Living.    A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Leroy’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services are caring for the family and LeRoy’s arrangements. 

Everette LeRoy Orris was born on June 16, 1926 in Louisa County, Iowa, the son of David Everette and Elizabeth (McCormick) Orris.  On July 20, 1947, Leroy was united in marriage to Mary “Katie” Catherine Brown in West Liberty, Iowa.  LeRoy had worked as an office manager at Petro Supply Company in Davenport.  He was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church.  LeRoy was an antique collector, collecting antique guns and owning over 150 antique cars.  He was also past president of the Muscatine Chapter of the classic car group.   

LeRoy will be deeply missed by his wife, Katie of Muscatine; brother, James Burdeane (Garnet) Orris of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters, Evelyn Bucher of Washington, MO and Colleen Hale of Midland, TX and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in by his parents and one brother, Burdette Orris.
