Obituary of Pauline Virginia Hall

Pauline Virginia Crossley Hall, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Altoona Nursing and Rehab Center.  Burial will be on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial’s may be directed to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Muscatine in Pauline’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Pauline’s arrangements and her family.

Pauline was born April 11, 1924, in Conesville,  Iowa.  She started to school at Schaagrag County School going through the 4th grade.  She then moved to West Columbus Junction going to Clifton Country School through the 8th grade and finished at Columbus Junction High School graduating in May 1943.  She married Clinton Earl Hall on May 11, 1943 in St Louis, MO.  They moved to Letts, Iowa.  Clinton worked for a farmer for a few years, later moving to McKee’s Experimental Farm north of Muscatine.  Their son Clinton Earl Jr was born in 1946 and died in 1953.  Pauline worked for Batterson Department Store in the office for many years and eventually retired.  After retirement Clinton and Pauline worked as custodians for many of McKee’s apartment complexes.  Pauline was proceeded in death by her husband Clinton Hall in 2008 and she then moved to Carrington Nursing Home in Muscatine, Iowa.  Her hobbies included reading, enjoyment of many house plants, especially African Violets and gardening.  She was a talented seamstress, making most of her own clothing.

Pauline will be deeply missed by her two siblings, Paul Crossley Jr. of Muscatine and Jone VanKlootwyk of Knoxville, Ia; and seven nieces and three nephews.
