Obituary of Mabel Goff

Mabel Goff, 80, of Fruitland, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 at her home in Fruitland. Graveside services will be held at Muscatine Memorial Park at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.  A Celebration of Life for Mabel will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home in Mabel’s  name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Mabel’s family and her services.

Mabel Tompkins was born October 10, 1936 in Muscatine County, the daughter of John and Ella (Mckillip) Tompkins.  On January 26, 1979, Mabel was united in marriage to Fred Goff.  Mabel enjoyed doing cross-word puzzles, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and most of all spending time with family. 

Mabel will be missed by her husband, Fred; son, Eldon (Debbie) Ballenger, Jr. of Muscatine; two granddaughters, Shannon Ballenger of Muscatine and Stephanie (Rusty) Clester of Fruitland;; four great-grandchildren; step daughter, Donna (Jim) Hahn of Muscatine; three step grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilbur Tompkins of Florida, John (Judy) Tompkins Jr. of Muscatine, and Ivan Tompkins of Tipton, and sisters, Wilma Walwer of Defiance, IA, Carol Cubbage of Muscatine and Karen Rivera of Muscatine. 

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
