Obituary of Charles Norwood

Charles “Charlie” Norwood 70, of Fruitland, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his home.    Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center. Per Charlie’s wishes there will be no visitation or services.  Private family burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.   A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Charlie’s name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services are caring for Charlie’s family and his arrangements. 

 

Charles Edward Norwood was born on June 18, 1947 in West Memphis, Arkansas to Charles L. and Lois I. (Rogers) Harden.  On January 18, 1969 Charlie was united in marriage to Jane E. Pulliam in Muscatine.  Charlie served his country in the United States Navy.  From 1973 until 1985 Charlie worked for R.J. Dick, he later went to work for HON Industries retiring in 2014. He enjoyed working on cars and was an avid reader and movie enthusiast.

 

Charlie will be deeply missed by his children, Mindy Norwood of Des Moines, Marcie Norwood of Fruitland and Jason Norwood of Muscatine; mother, Lois “Tootsie” Norwood of Muscatine; grandchildren, Jeremy and Brady and great-grandsons, Riley, Keaton and Blaedon; brothers George “Orville” Norwood of Little Rock, Arkansas and William “Will” (Pat) Norwood of Muscatine and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Charlie was preceded in death by Charles Harden and Lawrence “Kerr” Norwood, his wife, Jane in 2015 and two brothers, Henry and Tom Norwood.
