Obituary of Charles Chester Porter

Charles Porter, 77, of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at Premier Estates.  There will be no visitation or funeral service.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Charles’ name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. Charles Porter was born on May 6, 1940 in Gorham, Illinois the son of Luther James and Bessie Louise (Gulley) Porter.  Charles was united in marriage to Loretta Swearingen on May 21, 1964 in El Paso, Illinois and later divorced.  He was a cargo pilot and carpenter for Hundman Lumber in Bloomington, Illinois.

Charles is survived by his children, Tami Porter of Stockton, Iowa, Charles (Kimberly) Porter, Jr. of Bloomington, Illinois, Kelly (Leonard) Williams of Bloomington, Illinois and Jeffery Porter of Bloomington, Illinois; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Steve Porter of El Paso, Illinois and one sister, Brenda Phillips of Morton, Illinois.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.
