Obituary of Thomas Walter Rock

Thomas Walter Rock, 74, of Atalissa, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his home.  Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center.  A Celebration of Life and time of fellowship will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at the Atalissa Fire Station.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. Thomas Walter Rock was born on June 9, 1943 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Harry A. and Wilma I. (Tomasson) Rock.  On September 1, 1963, Thomas was united in marriage to Susan Dickey in Atalissa.  Thomas retired from HON Industries after many years.  He was a member of the MWF Breakfast Club and a past member of the Moose Lodge.  Thomas enjoyed spending time in his recliner, eating fried green tomatoes, driving racecar #52, watching dirt track racing, dancing, playing cards-especially euchre and kings corner and going to the Riverside Casino. 

Thomas will be deeply missed by his wife, Sue of Atalissa; children, Kim (Brian) Campbell  of Atalissa, Tom Rock, Jr. of Atalissa, and Jody (Arica) Rock of Cullom, Illinois; eight grandchildren Kyle (Brittany), Blake, Chet, Cassie, Gabe, Danielle, Addisyn and Bryce; sister, Elaine Kemp of Johnston, sister-in-law, Barb Rock of Atalissa; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews and cousins
