Obituary of Darlene Faye Smith

Darlene F. Smith, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Muscatine.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Church of Christ Church in Muscatine.  Cremation rites have been facilitated by FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services are caring for the Darlene’s arrangements and her family.

Darlene Faye Foster was born on July 20, 1938, in Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Kermit and Ruth Pricilla (Smith) Foster.  Darlene worked for Muscatine County D.H.S. and was a member of the Church of Christ.  She enjoyed family dinners, watching cartoons with the grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Darlene will be deeply missed by her children, Louis Kulp of Wapello, Darla (Raymond) Jackson of Muscatine and Tabitha (Michael) Cardenas of Winfield; eight grandchildren, Shane Smith of Canton, Missouri, Joshua and Dorothy Kulp of Rock Island, Illinois, Audrey Smith of Muscatine, Doug and Jessica Smith of Muscatine, Amanda Bloom of Muscatine, Tracy Strause of Muscatine, Matthew “Austin” Quigley Jr. of Winfield, Jasmine and Allen Taylor of Monticello and Jennifer Hill of Aurora, Colorado; 14 great grandchildren, Brady, Journey, Maynard, Logan, Ethan, Myra, Zach, Kaitlynn, Ocean, Jerry, Malachi, Keilyn, Lilly and Kailynn and siblings, Ed (Connie) Foster of Muscatine, Mary Harris of Wilton and John Kenneth Foster and significant other, Aledain Mohror of Muscatine.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Timothy Kulp, two brothers, Ron and Dale Foster and brother-in-law, Phillip Harris.
