Obituary of Sherry Lynn Wedekind

Sherry Wedekind, 60, of Milan, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Unity Point Hospital in Rock Island.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine.  Burial will be in High Prairie Cemetery.   Visitation for Sherry will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.  at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Sherry’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Sherry Lynn Kautz was born on March 6, 1957 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Edmond and Bessie (Goodwin) Kautz.  Sherry was a graduate of Rockridge High School.  On September 14, 1980, Sherry was united in marriage to Randy Lee Wedekind at High Prairie Church in Muscatine.  Sherry had worked at the Elk’s, Thifty Nickel and Gloria’s and also was a bartender at Happy Times Bar.  She was a past member of the Moose and Elks.  She enjoyed shopping, doing crafts, gardening, decorating the neighborhood for the Holidays, listening to her nephew, Jerry play his guitar and loved her cats.  Sherry was a very giving person who was always there with a helping hand.   

Sherry will be deeply missed by her siblings, Barbara Stoneking and husband, Richard of Columbus Junction, Patricia Hill and husband, Ivan of Peeples Valley, Arizona, Cindy Goodwin and husband, John of Brandon, Florida, and Maynard Kautz and wife, Naomi of Muscatine; several nieces and nephews; best friend, Larry Smelzer of Muscatine and many other special friends in the trailer park.    

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1982; one son, Matthew Paul Kautz and nephew, Raymond Arthur Westaway.
