Obituary of Robert "Bob" O Burkamper
Robert “Bob” O. Burkamper, 78, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Military rites will be by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Following the services will be facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center. Visitation for Bob will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Robert O. Burkamper was born on July 25, 1939 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Walter and Twyla (Hendrix) Burkamper. Bob served his country in the United States Army. On September 3, 1961 Bob was united in marriage to Linda Martin in Muscatine, Iowa. Bob had worked for C.E. Richard and Sons, Koenig Meat Packing, Muscatine County and retired from Occidental Chemical Corporation (OxyChem) in Buffalo. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was a Chicago Bears and NASCAR fan.
Bob will be deeply missed by his wife Linda; children; Jay (fiancé, Tamara Morgan ) of Hamstead, North Carolina and Tai Brooks of Davenport; grandchildren, Drew, Vaughn, Thad and Derek Burkamper, Garret and Avery Brooks and Maylyn Maynard; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ciara, Isabella, Zane, Hayden, Connor, Kael and Wesley; and brother, William Burkamper of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, George McDonald and two brothers, David and Stewart.
