Wayne was born on July 17, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Glen and Maxine (Allicks) French. On August 21, 1991, Wayne was united in marriage to Vickie L. Adams in Muscatine. Their honeymoon was spent at the Iowa State Fair and from that year on tradition was built and carried on by the rest of his family to enjoy that same place each year. He loved his work over the past several years as an independent over-the road truck driver. He enjoyed building go karts with his grandsons and attending their soccer games, playing “monkeys on the bed” with his granddaughter, and racing at the West Liberty Raceway.
Wayne’s kind and selfless heart will be carried on by his wife, Vickie French of Muscatine; children Jennifer Bruner and Eric MacMillan of Bettendorf, Beth and Jim Meyers of Missouri, and Debby and Gary Polston of Missouri; grandchildren, Skyler, Kyden, Clara, Matthew, Justin, and Darris; 3 great grandchildren; and sisters, Pam French of Iowa City and Kay Starkweather of Muscatine.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
