Obituary of Marcia Lynne Minchew
Marcia Minchew, 64, of Riverside, Iowa, formerly of Pensacola, Florida, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Cremation rites have been facilitated by the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services of Riverside. Marcia Lynne Minchew was born November 30, 1953 in Pensacola, FL, the daughter of Alexander and Mildred (Griffin) Semler. She was a graduate of Tate High School and Pensacola Junior College. On August 13, 1983, Marcia was united in marriage to Silas Minchew in Belle Fountain, AL. Marcia had worked ten years as a microbiology secretary prior to going to work for the Naval Air Station for 25 years. She enjoyed going hunting for antiques, collectibles and treasures with her husband, Silas. She also enjoyed watching sporting events with her son-in-law, Adam always cheering against his team to make a friendly competition. Her greatest love was the time she spent with her grandchildren, Joseph and Kelli-Lynne.
Marcia will be deeply missed by her husband, Silas of Riverside, Iowa; her daughter, Alison (Adam) Barnes of Riverside, IA; two grandchildren, Joseph and Kelli-Lynne Barnes; sister, Connie (Roger) Tetreau of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Bill Carter of Pace, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rebecca Carter.
