Obituary of Donna Jean Beason

Donna Jean Beason, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017, at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, Iowa with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Donna Jean Arington was born July 24, 1933, in Washington, Iowa to Ernest and Alice Arington. She grew up and received her education at Columbus Junction High School.

On May 22, 1952, Donna was united in marriage to Alva Harrison Beason. The couple made their home in Columbus Junction and Muscatine prior to moving to Cresco, Iowa. Donna and Al farmed in Cresco for over 30 years and have been blessed with three children, Ernest, Janiece, and David. They later retired in Ankeny where they have been active at the Neveln Center.

Donna was the matriarch of her family. She helped manage the farm and hosted many family members and friends at her home for dinner. Her and Al have lived their life serving others and have been great neighbors. Most of all, Donna loved spending time with Al, her children, and grandchildren who she treasured deeply.

Donna is survived by her husband of 65 years, Al; children, Ernest (Wynne) Beason, Janiece Beason, and David (Cammy) Beason; grandchildren, Sharyce (Patrick) Newby, Stephen (Meghan) Beason, Daniel Beason, Carly Beason, Harrison Beason, Christa Beason, and Chelsey (Tad) Stansberry; and great-grandchildren, Ashton, Natalie, Logan, Dominic, Sebastian, Baelyn, and Haven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and stepfather, Clayton Worley. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Nevln Center in Ankeny.
