Terry was born May 21, 1942, in Woodfield, Ohio, to Clifford and Margaret Pettit Phillips (later Margaret Keadey of Columbus, Ohio).  He married Joyce (Zahner) Collison on November 14, 1980, in Tipton, Iowa.   He graduated from high school in Columbus, Ohio.  Terry retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1983 after 22 years of service.  He often recalled with pride the many places around the world where he was stationed.  He later worked at the HON Company for 16 years and then for the Muscatine Community School District.  His hobbies included leatherwork, bodywork on cars, bowling, and playing cards.  He took great pride in his yard, keeping it looking well-groomed.  Terry enjoyed wintering in southern Texas for nine years, and he especially enjoyed many years with his precious dogs Muffin, Cricket, and most recently Sisse Jo.

Terry is survived by his wife, Joyce; step-brother Doug (Kathy Smith) Keadey, Pickerton, Ohio; step-daughter Debra (Robert) Waisanen of Manton, Michigan; step-son Dustin Collison of Davenport; son Ricky Allen Phillips Sr. and grandson Ricky Phillips Jr. both of Canton, Ohio; step-grandchildren Chad Claney, Chantel and Sierra Waisanen, Curtis Miller, and Leahton Collison; sister-in-law Margo Schneider of Muscatine; brother-in-law Kleo (Jan) Zahner of Davenport; nieces Christine (Terry) Gibson and Sharon Steele.  He is also survived by several step-great grandchildren.
