Obituary of Billy Bruce

         William “Billy” W. Bruce, 51, of Riverside, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.  Visitation for Billy will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside. A short prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Billy’s name.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

            Billy was born on April 5, 1966, in Hopkins County, Kentucky, the son of William Edward and Bobbie (Brown) Bruce.  Billy was a graduate of Dawson Springs High School in Dawson Springs, Kentucky.  On December 4, 1988, he was united in marriage to Norma Oliver in Dawson Springs.  Billy had worked as a process engineer for Engineer Plastic Corporation in Kalona, Iowa for the past ten years.  He enjoyed fishing, sports and music.  He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats, Chicago Cubs, and Dallas Cowboy fan and had become an Iowa Hawkeye fan. 

            Billy will be deeply missed by his wife, Norma of Riverside, IA; step-children, Lisa Oliver of Princeton, KY and Bobby Oliver of Marco Island, FL; four step-grandchildren, Justin, Osheana, Nickie and Katie; his mother, Bobbie Bruce of Madisonville, KY; sister, Debbie Dunning of Madisonville, KY; brother, Ronald Bruce of Madisonville, KY; nephews, Nick and Austin and niece, Mandy.

            He was preceded in death by his father.
