Obituary of Joan Grim

Edna Joan Grim, 86, of Nichols, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Pioneer Park, Lone Tree, Iowa.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nichols Christian Church.  Interment will be in Nichols Cemetery.  Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.  A memorial fund has been established for Nichols Christian Church in Edna’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Joan’s arrangements and her family. 

Edna Joan Sands was born on January 4, 1932 in Ainsworth, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Edna (Moore) Sands.  On November 18, 1956 she was united in marriage to Everett Grim in Davenport.  Joan worked for Smith Craft in Columbus Junction, drove school bus for West Liberty Schools and was a bookkeeper for Chown Appliances.  She was a member of Nichols Christian Church. 

Joan will be deeply missed by her children, Linda Koser of Memphis, Missouri, Rebecca (Dennis) Bayers of Buckeye, AZ and Russell (Sharyl) Grim of Nichols; daughter-in-law, Kathy Clevenger of Fruitland; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett in 2016; one son, Duane Clevenger, son-in-law, Roy Koser; brothers, Bill, Bob, Dick, and Sam Sands; sisters, Myrna Hazlett, Lois Boyd, Charlotte Morrison and Jean Wykert.
