Obituary of Jerry D. Wymer

Jerry D. Wymer, 76, of Wilton, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the 38 Event Center, 2394 Hwy 38, Wilton, Iowa.  The Geo. Jerry D. Wymer was born on July 21, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Norton D. and Phyllis (Bloom) Wymer. He was a 1959 graduate of Muscatine High School.  On April 2, 1960, Jerry was united in marriage to Maxine Ricketts and later divorced.  On April 17, 1976, Jerry was united in marriage to Beverly Garr in Kahoka, Missouri.  Jerry was a farmer and worked at Oscar Meyer, retiring on August 1, 1998.  He then worked for the City of Wilton.  He attended the Church of God in Fulton, Texas and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, hunting mushroom and playing cards, but most of all; he loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren. 

Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Beverly of Wilton; children, Brian (Lisa) Wymer of Grandview, Debbie (Mark) Stigers of Letts, Marla (Pete) Ramirez of Wilton, Don (Louise) McDonough of Muscatine, Mike McDonough of Rock Island, and Rhonda (Pat) Meyers of Sabula; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two brothers, Tom (Cindy) Wymer of Mesa, Arizona and Allen (Mary) Nowachek of St. Joseph, Minnesota.

            Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one son Brad in infancy.
