Obituary of Sally Ann Carpenter

Sally Ann Carpenter, 81, Columbus Junction, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction.  Burial will be in the Letts Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice in memory of Sally.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Sally Ann Bennett was born on January 17, 1937, in Louisa County, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Alice (Walberg) Bennett.  On June 10, 1956, Sally was united in marriage to Ronald Dean Carpenter in Letts, Iowa.  Sally was a cook at the L&M School for many years and helped with farming.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, collecting things and was an avid Hawkeye fan, attending many of the Hawkeye Football Bowl games. 

            Sally will be dearly missed by her children, Rick (Laurie) Carpenter of Illinois City and Ronda (Steve) Fifield of Muscatine; grandchildren, Ricky, Casey, Nickolas and his wife, Monica, Jonathon and his wife, Raegan and River and great grandchildren, Layla, Hemi, Braeden, Jude and Karolyne.

            Sally was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Rosemary Hayes and Betty Lou Barnes.
