Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Yordt

Mary Elizabeth Yordt, 93, of Muscatine, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.  Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Interment will be in Island Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Mary’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Mary Elizabeth Morris was born on May 8, 1925, the daughter of Archie Homer and Myrtle Mae (Britt) Morris.  On April 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Donald James Yordt at the Muscatine Musserville Church.  They later divorced.  Mary was a nurse aide at various places in Muscatine.  She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. 

Mary will be deeply missed by two sons, Donald E. Yordt and his wife, Penny of Muscatine and Dale Yordt of Iowa; one daughter, Rayetta Mosley and her husband Jim of Arkansas; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Raymond Yordt; four brothers and three sisters.
