Obituary of Carol Edna McAfee

Carol Edna McAfee, 75, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident.  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home in Carol’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Carol's arrangements and her family. 

Carol Edna Nelson was born on December 12, 1942 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of William and Edna (Saltz) Nelson.  On September 30, 1978, Carol was united in marriage to Gene McAfee in Muscatine.  Carol was a homemaker who enjoyed doing crafts and home improvements.   She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Carol will be missed for her outgoing independent personality. 

Carol will be deeply missed by her husband, Gene; children; John (Mary Jo) McAfee of Florida, Redna (Robert J.) Palmer of Muscatine, Alma McAfee of Muscatine, David McAfee of Florida and Troy (Kim) McAfee; eight grandchildren and one sister, Becky. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Woody and John Nelson.
