Obituary of Traci Lynn Avis

Traci L. Avis, 47, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a motor vehicle accident.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Interment will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation for Traci will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Traci’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Traci Lynn McGill was born on November 29, 1970 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Rick and Diane (Seright) McGill.  She was a 1989 graduate of MHS and had also earned an Associate’s Degree from Scott Community College.  On June 29, 1991, Traci was united in marriage to Troy Avis in Muscatine.  Traci worked as a Registered Health Information Tech for the University of Iowa.  Traci attended Calvary Church and was active in several small groups within the church.  She enjoyed, shopping, junking, going to thrift stores and wine tasting.  She loved her dog, Lainey Bella and more than anything, spending time with her family, especially her daughters. 

Traci will be deeply missed by her husband, Troy of Muscatine; daughters, Kelsey, Kailynn, Kamryn and Kenna Avis all of Muscatine; parents, Rick and Diane McGill of Muscatine; brothers, Bradley (Suzie) Busch and Brett (Heidi) Busch all of Muscatine; and sister, Juley (John) Kerr of Muscatine. 

Traci was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
