Obituary of Sondra Kiene

Sondra Wuanita  Kiene, 78, of Riverside, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Windmill Manor in Coralville.  A celebration of life service for Sondra will be held at a later date.   A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Sondra.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  The Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation services of Riverside is caring for Sondra’s arrangements and her family. 

Sondra Wuanita Johnson was born on October 20, 1939, in Cosgrove, Iowa the daughter of Truman and Wanda (Durst) Johnson.  On August 6, 1960, Sondra was united in marriage to Charles Kiene in West Branch, Iowa.  Sondra had worked for the Iowa City School district as a secretary from 1958-2006.  She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and baking.  Her greatest enjoyment was the time she spent with her grandchildren. 

Sondra will be deeply missed by her son, Craig Kiene of Riverside; two grandchildren, Chris McCreedy and Cayla Kiene; siblings, Ellen Schellin of Florida, Linda Plecker of Ainsworth, Roger Johnson of West Liberty, Mark Johnson of West Liberty and Dave Johnson of Mt. Pleasant and several nieces and nephews.

Sondra was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles in 2004.
