Obituary of Donald Keith Powers

Donald K. Powers, 70, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Ainsworth, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his home in Moline.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Donald.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

 

Donald Keith Powers was born on April 9, 1948, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Don Farrington and Pauline Powers.  Donald was drafted by the U.S. Army on April 9, 1968 and was discharged in 1970.  He worked as a machinist at Tibor in Rock Island.  Donald enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. 

 

Donald will be deeply missed by his children, Kevin (Jessica) Powers of Ainsworth and Angela Triska of Salem, MO; eight grandchildren, Ashley Triska, Brittany Triska, Dakota Triska, Jacob Powers, Madalyn Powers, Delaney Powers, Ty Powers and Cole Powers; one great grandson, Wyatt Powers and siblings,  James (Kate) Keeler of Taylor, AZ, John Keeler of Canyon City, CO, Stephen (Beverly) Keeler of Riverside, Vickie (Kevin) Michel of Brighton, Gerald (Mary) Keeler of Brighton, Randall (Marna) Keeler of Bronston, KY.

 

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Bruce Keeler and two brothers, Thomas and Ronald.
