I knew Ron back in the 1990's when we worked together at Dictaphone. I kinda lost touch with him but I never forgot him. We went golfing together a couple times and he really was pretty good. Seems like old friends never die "They Just Fade Away".

Katie,
I'm deeply saddened and you and your entire family have my sympathy. Ron will be missed deeply by his many family and friends. I shall remember him as friend and classmate from 1964.
I often recall back to 1964 when we were in that week between getting out of school and waiting for graduation. Ron and I had stopped in the restaurant in the morning in Lone Tree. T. J. Sorden came in and sat with us an wanted to know if we could help him take a veteran to the VA hospital in Iowa City? So we said sure we could do that. So you must remember at that time T.J. was our First Responder and ambulance for the community. He put the red light on the top of the hearse and we went to get John Keeler, as I recall, carried him down from upstairs and loaded him into the ambulance. We went on the ride to the VA to deliver him for medical help with a breathing problem. That was our first time of service to a veteran in the community and a visit to the VA. We probably both never gave it a thought that someday we would be eligible for that same service as military veterans. Ron was always willing to help a friend in need and was willing to serve our country in its time of need.
