Obituary of David D. Brown

David D. Brown, 55, of Nichols, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.  Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery with military honors provided by the Lone Tree American Legion Post 457.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Benjamin Brown Education Fund in memory of Dave.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

David Dean Brown was born on November 10, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa the son of Arlond C. and Sharon R. (Ellsworth) Brown.  He was a 1981 graduate of Bethel Christian Academy in Fredonia.  David served in the United States Army during the Gulf War and served two tours in Germany.  Dave was a truck driver for JB Hunt for 14 years, earning the Million Mile Driver award and was honored with the JB Hunt Veteran’s Truck.  Dave enjoyed Pokemon Go, fishing, and working on his boats, but most of all, Dave loved to spend time with his son, Ben.

Dave will be deeply missed by his son, Ben of Nichols’ mother, Sharon of Nichols; siblings, Cheryl (Terry) Honts of Nichols, Joel Brown of Nichols and Nancy (Tom) Brugman of Nichols; eight nieces and nephews; one great niece and one great nephew.

Dave was preceded in death by his father.
