Obituary of Marlene J Linder
Marlene J. Linder, 82, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Genesis East Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the Fruitland Baptist Church. Interment will be in Eliza Creek Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Visitation for Marlene will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Fruitland Baptist Church and Marlene’s family in her name. Marlene Jannice Harroun was born on July 4, 1936 in Davenport, the daughter of John W. and Theresa A. (Ewoldt) Harroun. Marlene was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing. On May 6, 1953, Marlene was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Linder in Davenport, Iowa. Marlene was a retired Register Nurse beginning her career in 1964. She was an active member of the Fruitland Baptist Church where she was also the church secretary. She enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, Durant Ambulance and playing in a bowling league and most of all she dearly loved to spend time with her church family and friends.
Marlene will be deeply missed by her three children, Valerie (Donald) Moeller of Muscatine, Charles (Deb) Linder of Flora, Illinois and Kenneth S. (Sherry) Linder of Moscow and; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Hannah), Rebecca, Sammantha (Roger), Katelyn (Austin), David (FaLynn), Rachel and Joshua; and four great-grandchildren, Garrett, Trenton, Bruce and Henry and one brother, James (Charlotte) Harroun of DeWitt.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; brother, John Harroun and one great-grandchild, Gavin Degner.
