Obituary of Rita P. Grimm

Rita Grimm, 63, of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at her home in Washington.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction.  Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018, at the funeral home.   Immediately following the memorial service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus City Masonic Hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Livestrong Foundation in memory of Rita.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

 

            Rita Pearl Wheeler was born on August 12, 1955, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Leland and Leona May (Stapp) Wheeler.  She graduated from Columbus Community Schools.  Rita worked for IAC for 40 years.  She enjoyed bowling, reading, visiting the occasional slot machine, going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and NASCAR driver, Kevin Harvick. 

 

            Rita will be dearly missed by her children, Amy DeWolf and significant other, Lee Applegate of Washington and Jamie Grimm of Center Point; four grandchildren, Bailey Graber, Abbi DeWolf, Bryce DeWolf and Cooper Grimm and siblings Michael Wheeler of Washington, Nina Calvelage of Minnesota and Sherry (Jim) Holmes of Coweta, Oklahoma.

 

            Rita was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jerry Wheeler and one sister, Susan Peppers.
