Obituary of Marie Hinman

Marie Hinman, 96, of Letts, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Lutheran Living in Muscatine. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in memory of Marie. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Marie Frieden was born on August 17, 1922, the daughter of John and Ura Marie “Mary” (Gauger) Frieden. On December 25, 1939, Marie was united in marriage to Clifford “Sonny” Hinman in Muscatine. Marie retired from Thatcher Plastics after 30 plus years of service. She enjoyed going to cattle sales, driving around, eating a Maid-Rite, and eating sweets. 

Marie will be deeply missed by her children; Bill Hinman of Letts and Charlotte Howe of Fruitland; seven grandchildren, Denny (Melanie) Hinman, Deb (Chris) Painter, Randy (Sandy) Howe, Charlene DeLong, Cathy (Robert) Richardson, Shelley Hinman, and Billie Jo Hinman; ten great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sonny in 1963; and brothers, Lawrence, Gene, and Richard Frieden.
