Obituary of J. Duane Kropf

J. Duane Kropf went to be with our Lord on October 30, 2018 at his home in Mc Allen, Texas.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday November 10th, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. with a 4:00 P.M. Masonic Service at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, 603 2nd Street, Columbus Junction.  Memorials have been established for the American Lung Association, First Christian Church and the Louisa County Ambulance. 

J. Duane Kropf was born October 13th, 1937 in Davis County Iowa to J. Dale and L. Genevieve Kropf. Duane grew up in rural Davis County farming the family farm, driving the school bus and working at the gas station in West Grove. He was united in marriage to Carolyn M. Davis on August 7th, 1960.  Duane retired from the Railroad after many years. 

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Keokuk. Duane was raised to be a Mason on 2/24/1962 and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.  He was privileged to serve as Grand Tyler for the Grand Lodge of Iowa in 2004-2005 and Grand Marshal for the Order of the Eastern Star in 2010-2011. Duane also loved his wood working, and many of his projects still adorn the residences of the family.

 Duane is survived by his wife, his three children, John of Atlanta, GA, Lynn of Columbus Junction, IA, and Paul (Julie) of Ft. Madison, IA, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers Joe (Lynda) and Robert (Judy) and other numerous family members.
