Obituary of Harold R. Bopp

Harold R. Bopp, 87, of Riverside, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree.  Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside.  Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Mary’s Parish Center.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Harold.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Harold Rudolph Bopp was born on February 7, 1931, on the home place, the son of Jesse and Mae (Heck) Bopp.  On June 19, 1965, Harold was united in marriage to Delaine C. Zeman in Chelsea, Iowa.  Harold was a farmer in the Riverside area his entire life and also drove a truck.  He was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hills and enjoyed farming, driving around the countryside sight-seeing where he took many short cuts which turned into long cuts, but most of all, Harold loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren. 

Harold will be deeply missed by his wife, Delaine of Riverside; his children, Michael Bopp of Riverside, Renae (Chad) Murphy of Hills, Corine (Joe) Landis of Warsaw, Illinois, Jim (Heather) Bopp of Lone Tree and Greg (Carrie) Bopp of Coralville and twelve grandchildren, Jacob Murphy, Rachel Murphy, Nicole Murphy, Jennifer Landis, Ethan Landis, Cora Bopp, Macie Bopp, Grey Bopp, Ty Bopp, Clay Bopp, Chase Bopp and Lincoln Bopp.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents.
