Obituary of Betty J. Zimmer

Betty Zimmer, 93, of Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Brookdale Hospice in Spring, Texas. Private family services will be held with interment in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.  The Geo. M.             Betty Janet Mowson was born on October 11, 1925 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Robert L. and Nellie M. (Parsons) Mowson, one of fourteen siblings.  On September 27, 1944, Betty was united in marriage to George J. Zimmer in Kentucky. They moved to Muscatine in 1962 and she was a member of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church in Muscatine.

            Betty will be deeply missed by her daughter, Linda (Robert) Gilbride of Oak Ridge North, Texas; sons, William (Barbara) Zimmer of Round Rock, Texas and Alan Zimmer of Port Charlotte, Florida; grandchildren, Matt (Yolanda) Gilbride of  El Dorado Hills, California., Peter Gilbride of Rosenberg, Texas, Megan (Jason) Gilbride Cain of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Lindsay (Justin) Gilbride Camp of Conroe, Texas, William (Jennifer) Zimmer Jr. of Frisco, TX, Kristen (Brad) Zimmer Redmond of Newcastle, WA, Derek (Gwen) Zimmer of Dallas, Texas and Dana (Mike) Zimmer Esposito of Winter Haven, Fla. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.

            Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents, ten brothers and sisters, her daughter-in-law Kathy and one great granddaughter.
