Obituary of Kenneth Dusenberry, Sr.

Kenneth “Dusey” Dusenberry, Sr., 67, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018, at his home in Muscatine.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will be in Fairport Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Kenneth’s name. Kenneth Floyd Dusenberry was born on August 4, 1951, in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Raymond F. and Alberta L. (Stromer) Dusenberry.  Kenneth owned and operated his own truck, then went to work for Robinson Trucking.  In his semi-retired years he drove dump truck for Jody Connor.  He was a past member of the Conesville volunteer fire department and enjoyed gambling, watching TV and talking with friends, but most of all, Kenneth dearly loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Kenneth will be deeply missed by his significant other for the last 23 years, Linda Jarrett of Muscatine; children, Melinda Phillips and her significant other, Chad Sexton of Moscow and Kenneth Dusenberry, Jr., and wife, Susan of Wilton; six grandchildren; one great grandson, Kayne Jones; and siblings, Larry Dusenberry of Moscow, Keith (Charlene) Dusenberry of Muscatine, Karen (John) Bails of Cedar Rapids, Evelyn (Kevin) DeVore of Muscatine, Sharon Dusenberry of Denver, NC and Peggy Plowman of Muscatine.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Matthew Proctor; one step-son, Larry Koehler; brothers, Donnie, Chuck, Meryle, Glenn and DeWayne and sister, Joyce Dusenberry.
